Jake grew up with a passion for the mountains and deserts of Utah. He started skiing at the age of four and spent nearly every Saturday of his early life skiing until the last sweep off the hill. Avalanches had an early and lasting impact on him, after his dad was involved in a body recovery at Park West in the early 70's. His passion for skiing is matched by a desire to teach people how to safely enjoy recreating in dangerous avalanche terrain. |
Jake's other passions involve exploring the remote places in Utah by whatever means neccesary; foot, bike, boat, motorcycle or truck. This led to a new passion in photographing these places visited by so few people. He loves nothing more than to pack the truck with only a general destination in mind and see where the road leads. |
